General

By visiting the ComputerNostalgia.net web site and reading the pages on the site, no information is collected about you, other than that which is typically collected in server logs by web sites. ComputerNostalgia.net makes no use of this information.

If you contribute computer history content to the web site, you are publishing that content publicly. There is no time limit on how long the content will be retained.

When you create or edit any content on the web site you are identified publicly as the author.

Identification of contributors

When you publish computer history content on the web site, you must be logged in.

When logged in, you are identified by your email address and name. This may or may not be your real name. It is the name you entered when you created your account.

If you have not logged in, you will be identified by your network IP address. Depending on your connection, this number may or may not be traceable back to you.

Use of passwords

Users' passwords will never be knowingly exposed to public release either directly or indirectly.

Private logging

Every time you visit a web page, you send a lot of information to the web server. ComputerNostalgia.net makes no use of this information.

Sharing information with third parties

All computer history content added to the ComputerNostalgia.net web site available under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License.

ComputerNostalgia.net will not sell or share private information, such as email addresses, with third parties, unless you agree to release this information, or it is required by law to release the information.

Use of cookies

The ComputerNostalgia.net web site sets various cookies when you log in and use the site. These are used primarily to avoid you having to enter your email address and password every time you access a protected page. Long term cookies can also be set to prevent you having to log in on your next visit to the site. Most cookies are automatically cleared when you log out or terminate your browser session. You may clear any other cookies that may have been set after use if you are using a public machine and don't wish to expose your username to future users of the machine. (If so, clear the browser cache as well.)

Security of information

ComputerNostalgia.net makes no guarantee against unauthorized access to any information you provide. This information is available to all developers with access to the servers. Currently, I am the only person with this access.

Removal of user accounts

User accounts can only be removed by a me. If you require your account to be removed, contact me and I will remove it. Once removed from the main site, some information is retained for reference purposes. If you require all references to your account to be removed, contact me and I will remove them.

Deletion of computer history content

Only the creator of the article or me, the site moderator, can delete that article.
